_SHO0089.NEFFormed in 2005, StereoGoesStellar is an indie piano pop band from Windsor, Ontario.

Their story began when guitarists Iain Kennedy and Mick Di Maio started playing music with drummer Erik Stenlund, the three of them having attended the same high school. Mick eventually joined another band in which he met bassist Keith Howlett. When that group disbanded, Mick decided Keith, Iain, Erik, and himself should start playing together. They started writing music, but felt their sound was lacking something.

_SHO0016.NEFMick and Erik knew pianist Jeremy Coulter from a local production of the musical Oklahoma in which the three of them had been involved. When they asked Jeremy to come out and play with them, StereoGoesStellar was born. They released their first recording, an EP entitled “Jump’in The Skull,” in 2006 and a self-titled LP in 2009. They enjoy playing both fast-paced and slow songs, emphasizing the unique vocal style and piano playing employed by Jeremy. They have had the good fortune of playing some notable venues in Canada and the US, including The Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto and The Shelter in Detroit.

StereoGoesStellar is currently playing as many shows as they possibly can while constantly writing new music. Their motto was coined by Jeremy when he once said, “If we weren’t in a band, we’d still all be friends.”
